If you’re interested in starting a business that you can run from your own home selling products, you might want to look into a Direct Sales business opportunity. You may have heard of Tupperware, Avon, Pampered Chef or Home and Garden. They are just a few of many business opportunities available that a person could join to begin a product-focused business. Everyone loves hosting a get together in their neighborhood even if its just to get a hostess gift. You may find this style of home business is much more fun than you think.
Direct Sales products vary from books to educational toys to food. The hardest part may be deciding which product you want to sell and finding the company that is a perfect fit for you. Don’t be afraid to do your research. Ask around, survey your friends, get in touch with others doing the same thing.
What skills and tools are needed to be successful in a Direct Sales Business?
Most business opportunities require you to pay a startup fee, so decide ahead of time how much you’re willing to spend to begin your selling adventure. When you find products you like, learn everything you can about the company behind the products. Check out their websites, and find out if they’re a web friendly company and provide websites to their representatives. Learn about their internet marketing rules as some companies are restrictive to the point of really making it difficult for you to grow beyond your own community. Some companies will not let you do any internet advertising at all, so, if you plan to grow your business online, ask the hard questions in advance to avoid frustration later.
To start your own Direct Sales business you will need good selling skills and the passion to succeed because, despite popular opinion, products do not sell themselves. You will be working with people a lot, and building relationships, so good customer service skills are a must. It would be a good idea to learn some light book keeping skills as you will be keeping track of orders and payments etc.
The tools you will need for a business like this will depend on the type of business you choose. Some basic tools are a computer with internet connection, telephone and a starter pack of items that the company usually provides you in your starter kit. A website is also needed to promote the goods you’re selling even if the company does give you a rep site, you will be smart to develop your own personal online presence for marketing.
A Direct Sales Business can be a fun and easy way to earn some income while enjoying time with people and filling your home with products you love. It’s simple to get started and doesn’t usually cost much to get a business like this off the ground compared to many other home business projects.

Are you someone who just loves to cook, bake and spend lots of time in the kitchen coming up with your own great recipe ideas? For many amateur chefs, seeing the smiles of their friends and family members when they dig into a new meal or dessert is reward enough for the toiling and work that they do over the stove. But did you know that you can also find success and reward by entering your concoctions into one of the many recipe contests that can be found online? It’s true, and we’re going to give you a few tips on how to enter your creations into the perfect recipe contest as quickly as you can cook them! It really doesn’t matter what kind of cooking you’re best at, since there are recipe contests for pretty much every kind of food out there. Whether you are good at desserts, traditional meals, Italian, healthy foods, or even special drinks, there is probably a recipe contest that you can enter your creation into. For more results go to www.cooking-chinese-style.com. While recipe contests are not as numerous as other kinds of contests and sweepstakes, there are a few simple steps you can follow to find the perfect cooking competition to enter right from your home computer. By using a simple search query, you’ll find more than a few contests that will let you show off your culinary skills. It’s pretty simple: go online and use your favorite search engine to type in a query about contests that cover your favorite type of recipe. You will likely see quite a few results, from online coking websites to television program contests. It’s a smart idea to at least take a quick look at as many as you can, not just the first result, because sometimes the best recipe contests aren’t on the first page of search results. For each contest, write down the entry requirements, how they judge the winners, and what the possible prizes are. You can then use that list to compare recipe contests and decide which one is best suited for you. Early on, you shouldn’t be too worried about winning recipe contests that have large cash prizes. Winning a significant prize is nice, but your first few recipe contests should be for getting yourself comfortable with sharing your recipes ad getting feedback from other participants and the contest administrators. You might not win your first few recipe contests, but use the feedback you get to inspire you to create new recipes and enter them in other contests. Make sure that you interact with other entrants if possible, and use your experience in recipe contests to meet other amateur chefs, share cooking ideas and experiences, and have lots of fun. You can also visit us at www.cajuns-recipes.com. Finally, it’s very important to remember that you should never give out any credit card or bank account information when entering an online recipe contest. There isn’t really any reason that smaller websites or companies should charge you a fee for entering a recipe contest, so if they ask you for your credit card number you should not enter their contest. There are plenty of opportunities online to enter cooking contests that don’t cost you a dime, but that still allow you to showcase your best recipes for everyone to experience. Use some common sense, does a little research, and with some tenacity you’ll be winning your first recipe contest in no time!

Everyone who has a backyard or even an outside patio probably owns a barbecue grill. The grill is as important as anything else lying around the house. Most men consider the grill and the area surrounding it “man land.” Cooking meat on an open flame satisfies the caveman part of the brain.
The smell of the meat on hot coals will make anyone hungry. A barbecue grill comes in many shapes and sizes. Small grills that can be placed on a table can cost very little and they work just the same as the big ones.
On the other end of the spectrum, one can find large stainless steel models that cost, in some cases, over two thousand dollars. When it comes down to the basics, a barbecue grill cooks meat. Everything else that is built into one is either a cooking aid or nice to have accessories. Some grills also come attached with smoker accessories so the unit can accomplish more than just grilling.
Whatever the customer wants, there is probably a grill that suits his or her taste. Something to consider when shopping for a grill is: What size does one want or need? Meat racks can be small, maybe enough to cook two steaks, or large enough to cook for a large party.
Tips To Aid The Cooking Of Meat
It doesn’t matter what kind of meat one is cooking. Whether its beef, pork, fish, or chicken, there are some things that can enhance the flavors. One way is to marinate the meat overnight in whatever one chooses. When it is taken out to the barbecue grill, the aroma is mouth watering.
Also, one can use spices while the meat is cooking. There are many spices available to the customer. Some even mix spices together designed for each type of meat.
Something else that will aid the cooking is to watch out for flare ups. They can very quickly ruin a nice cut of meat. Every barbecue grill has a lid. When cooking meat that drips often, keeping the lid closed while cooking will stop the flare up. One still has to keep an eye out for trouble, but with the barbecue grill lid down, flare ups are minimized. Finally, knowing the amount of time it takes to cook a specific type and size of meat, the individual can then cook the meat to whatever one likes.
All meat will taste bad if overcooked so have a rough idea of the time it takes to cook whatever meat one is having, and keep a knife handy to check the current condition of the meat.

How many times have you wanted to make a particular chicken recipe or one of your heart healthy recipes and just couldn’t remember which recipe book it was in? If you have ever been in this kind of situation you will know very well what I mean. Without a recipe finder, it can be very difficult to look for the recipe you intend making.
So what exactly is a recipe finder? It is something that helps you find your recipes quick and fast; no matter if they are chicken recipes, healthy recipes, low calorie recipes, lunch recipes, baking recipes or any other. If you have a lot of recipe books, then you can keep a notebook with some pages reserved for each letter of the alphabet with which that recipe name begins. Or better still, invest in a folder and you can go on adding pages as you feel the need. Here, under chicken recipes, you can write the recipe name and the page number and book name it comes from if it a cookbooks recipe.
Or now in the age of the computer, you can create a file with all these details and this kind of recipe finder might be even faster than the manual one saving you even more time when you are looking for your healthy recipes or family recipes. All you have to do is use the find option by pressing the Ctrl and F keys on your keyboard simultaneously and key in the word or phrase that you are looking for. Very soon you will have located the recipes that you have been looking for.
Yet another recipe finder available is in the form of a search engine where you key in “healthy recipes” and are greeted by a great long list which will take you quite some time to sift through to get the ideal recipe you might be looking for. Another way is to visit recipe websites. Some provide you with recipe finders that let you browse by category whether it is chicken recipes, dinner recipes, recipes meals and the like; others let you browse by ingredients.
As the days get shorter and colder and winter approaches, we look for comfort foods. These foods are rich in fat and high in carbohydrates which can be devastating if you are asked to restrict yourself to healthy recipes. Mashed potatoes, macaroni with cheese, meatloaf and cakes are some of the hot favorites. If you make use of a recipe finder on the Net you are sure to find some free recipes that will provide you with substitutes for some ingredients which you should avoid.
While making mashed potatoes the next time, add some roasted cauliflower. Replace the whole milk and butter with some skimmed milk and some chicken brother which is low in sodium. Add a dash of salt and pepper. Thus you can make your own healthy recipes even if you are not happy with what the recipe finder on the Net gives you.

If you’ve been entertaining this thought, chances are you’ve met various women who sell Arbonne, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, to name a few home-based businesses targeted at SAHMs and WAHMs. These are all great businesses–I personally know and/or have coached women in these kinds of direct sales businesses who love their work. But is direct sales for you?
There are as many possibilities for self-employment as you can imagine. But to start with, what compels you to want to work? Is it something you need to do, want to do, feel you should do, or a combination? And what do you need from your work–flexibility, time off, high income potential, low investment, security, working by yourself or as part of a team…?
You can sign up for any of a huge number of home-based businesses geared towards SAHMs, but if you want to be happy, satisfied, and successful, you should probably start by figuring out what it is you want. Not just what job you want, but what that job would get you, such as: a break from mommyhood, some spending money, an outlet for your creativity or self-expression, the opportunity to contribute to the family, some adult interaction, financial security, etc.
Once you know what you want (i.e., what motivates you), it will narrow down your choices and help you choose a business that meets your conditions of satisfaction. Make sure that the work you choose to do fits in with your family values and supports your commitments to your spouse/significant other. Otherwise, you could create some issues in a part of your life that might not already exist.
Motherhood is a fulltime job, and yet focusing our energy and brainpower on something other than diapers, Disney and the whims of the little humans we brought into this world can be very satisfying. By clearly understanding the reasons you’re compelled to work you can choose a business that recharges you while you raise your family.

The success of a multi-level marketing company lies solely within its name: marketing. The typical MLM company not only markets its product, but it markets the success of its company and thus draws more sales people into the fold and thus a larger sales region. Every time a sales person jumps on board, the company grows because that sales person offers a virtual new market of people for the company. So how does a sales person then engage in successful MLM marketing? Three basic ideas will help him find success.
First and foremost, even in MLM marketing, a sales person should use the product he or she is attempting to sell. We can learn best about what the product does or does not do by simply using it on a regular basis for its intended purpose. Can you imagine a Mary Kay sales woman who uses Covergirl? Maybe a Pampered Chef consultant who buys knives from Sears? The thought seems ludicrous. If your product is great enough to sell to others, you must use it yourself. Furthermore, using your product will lead you to give your own testimonial about the product. You can share what you really do like or don’t like.
Second, succeed at selling your product. If you can sell your product successfully, then you can convince others to sell the product successfully. MLM companies reward the sales people who not only sell their product but who also bring in those new sales people that expand their sales region. Thus if you can find a way to sell your product successfully, you will easily convince others to join your company.
Finally, recruit customer testimonials. Ask returning customers if they will sit in on a sales pitch with a new client. They can share the great things that your product has done for them, and their effective testimony will essentially sell the product. Asking a customer to help you out in this way may seem uncomfortable at first, but if they believe in the product fully, they will gladly help you out because they want others to experience the same great result.
Ultimately, MLM marketing is no different from any other type of marketing. If you can sell the product, you can sell the business, and you will find yourself more successful than ever in your line of work.

These 3 quick desserts are perfect for those last-minute guests or when you need a quick dessert recipe.
Candy Bar Imitations
1/2 cup butter
1 package devil’s food cake mix
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
Mix the butter and cake mix in a large bowl until crumbly. Evenly sprinkle this mixture into a jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1-inch). Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan. Put the butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, coconut, and pecans over the top of the mixture in an even layer. Add the sweetened condensed milk over the entire mixture. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes. The top should be light golden brown. Allow it to cool and cut it into bars.
Caramel Brownies
1 package (14 ounces) caramels
1 can evaporated milk
1 package German chocolate cake mix
2/3 cup melted margarine
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
In a small saucepan over low heat melt the caramels and 1/3 cup of the evaporated milk. While those are melting, mix together the cake mix, margarine, and 1/3 cup of the evaporated milk. Put half of the cake mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Put it into a 350 degree oven for 6 minutes. Add the chocolate chips and pecans in an even layer over the baked cake mix. Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the chocolate chip/pecan layer. Then pour the other half of the cake mix over the caramel layer. Bake for 20 additional minutes. Allow brownies to cool and cut into bars.
Easy Lemon Bars

I always seem to have less time than I thought, so I usually start with ice cream. If you want it to look really nice, invest in a restaurant style scooper. There is no limit to the variety of different toppings that you can try. I’m a big fan of strawberries and pecans.
For a quick and easy dessert or “anytime-treat”, I put plain vanilla ice cream together with strawberry and banana slices in the blender. I leave it thick and we eat it with a spoon, but you can add a little milk and serve your own fresh milkshakes.
As far as convenience goes, we have much to choose from in the grocery stores, these days. I’m not a big fan of the mixes. The taste is not the best and they often don’t set. I love cheesecake, but that no-bake version that comes in a box is pretty “tasteless”. But, sometimes I do occasionally buy a ready-made crust and fill it with canned fruit fillings. To give apple pie a personal flair, I’ll slice green apples and arrange them on top. Of course, this has to be done right before serving or the slices will turn brown.
Fruit is always a quick and easy dessert and the healthiest choice. I like using half of a honeydew melon as a serving bowl. Just scoop out the melon, put it in a large bowl, toss with a variety of fresh berries and serve. Return to the melon halves and serve.
Since, occasionally I run into a situation that requires a quick and easy dessert suitable for a party or dinner guests. I got “stuck” too many times in the past, so I decided to order one of the beautiful cheesecakes from www.cheesecakedelivered.com  and store it in the freezer.
They can be stored frozen for up to four months, but since we often have unexpected guests, they never last that long. And, of course, they are only good for one meal, because they are so delicious. I’ve tried practically every variety, now, and I’m never disappointed. Personally, I prefer cheesecake, but they have quite a selection of other pastries. Elegant cakes, fruit tarts, sugar-free and even all organic are just some of the things they have to choose from. They offer next day delivery and you can order up to a year in advance,in case you have that much time to plan. It never happens to me, but I know that some people are that well organized.
Just to recap; my quick and easy dessert ideas include ice cream, fruit, pecans or other nuts and cheesecake. Enjoy!

Low fat desserts have a bad reputation — either they’re plain ol’ fruit, which does not count as dessert, or they have no flavor at all. Better to skip dessert than to eat some of the low fat desserts we’ve had in the past, huh???
Well, I’m here to make you a happy low fat dessert eater! Let me tell you the secret: Rawleigh’s Chocolate Pie Filling and Dessert Mix, which is a great value and also makes a fabulous treat for anyone taking care of their health. It’s a low calorie mix with no fat unless you add some in; and if you take some of my suggestions for additions, you’ll have low fat desserts that are so luscious that no one will be able to tell the difference.
First of all, when the basic recipe calls for adding milk, use skim milk — the pudding mix is so rich already that you’ll never miss the fat from whole milk. But you can still add more flavor to your low fat dessert: use half skim milk and half coffee to make a mocha pudding. Or add a few tablespoons of maraschino cherry juice with the milk, and chop up a few cherries to mix into the pudding, and you’ve got a low fat dessert that’s rich with chocolate and has some texture, as well.
I’m not opposed to using fruit in a low fat dessert, even if I don’t think that it qualifies as a low fat dessert. A simple treat is to slice some bananas and mix them into the pudding, or place a layer of banana slices between two layers of pudding to make a trifle. Or cut some orange slices and fan them out on a plate, then place a scoop of pudding that’s been made with orange juice and a bit of orange zest into the center, for a supremely elegant low fat dessert with gorgeous color, too.
There are so many things you can do with a simple pudding mix that there are no excuses for depriving yourself of low fat desserts anymore. I’ve given you several ideas; now go into the kitchen and start mixing and stirring and having some fun for yourself while creating a whole new array of low fat desserts to be proud of!

are about more than just food. They are also about fun and fellowship with family members and good friends. While the food is great, there are a lot of other reasons that people attend barbecues, and good games are usually one of those main reasons. Unfortunately, a lot of people do not really know what to do when it comes to having games to play in their backyard. It can be difficult to get something that everyone can enjoy, and because of that individuals who like to have backyard games sometimes avoid them out of frustration. Now, though, there is an option. The bean bag game, often also called the bean bag toss or the Cornhole game, has been around for many years, but a lot of people do not know about it. Those who do often played it in childhood in their school physical education classes but have since stopped playing it. They only think of it as a childhood game, or maybe they have forgotten it entirely.
There are people today, though ? most of them in the northern part of the country ? who still enjoy playing the Cornhole game. They play it at backyard barbecues and other get-togethers as well as at tailgating and birthday parties. Many of them also organize Cornhole or bean bag tournaments where they play against members of their community and surrounding areas for cash and prizes. Not everyone enjoys this game of course, but many, many people do find it a great deal of fun. These people often want to get others involved in the game as well, and playing it with friends and family members can be a great way to do this. It allows young and old to partake in a game that everyone can enjoy and that even young children and the elderly can play. This will help to keep the party going until the food is ready and give people something to do after they have eaten. It can get the younger generation and the older one to talk to one another more, and help to forge the kinds of bonds that are very difficult to acquire today.
Not everyone wants to play the Cornhole game for a profit of course. Most people who play it are not interested in tournaments and things of that nature. However, they do want to learn to play the game correctly. Because the rules are so easy to follow it does not take a person long to learn the rules of the game. This also makes it very easy to introduce the game to other people in the family or the group of friends. The more people that a Cornhole player can get involved in the game the more fun it can be. Some people also play it in teams if there are a lot of people who would enjoy the game gathered in one spot. Even if there are enough Cornhole boards for everyone to play separately, it is still often much more fun for people to play in groups. Doing this can make sure that everyone has a good time and enjoys their barbecue or other family get-together as much as possible.
